safe spaces is an extensive dance research by Miriam Arnold.

The connection between body and material – between dance and installation – is spatially expanded and made physically tangible for the audience. The relationship between body and material is gradually replaced by an investigation of the relationship between the bodies and the exploration of the shared safe space. The performance is complemented by interview recordings previously made in Istanbul, which provide very personal insights into the different safe spaces of people.

SAFE SPACES was premiered in 2019 at the Center for Contemporary Dance at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.
